ABM’s Historic Mark on Manresa: A Testament to Innovation and Growth

On October 1, 2024, Manresa School's very own ABM students marked a testament in history. It is the first time that ABM was given the opportunity to compete outside of the school. The selected graduating students of Grade 12 - St. Luke were divided into two teams. Team KAYA composed of: Lindsay Ecat, Jules Espiritu, Bea Tan-Gatue, Mishael Vinca, and Matthew Vinta. Team LAKAS consisted of: Emille Apitana, Argus De Leon, Rafael Ligon, Anyssa Maniquiz, and Iesu Oñate.

Both were tasked to visit Southville in their inaugural Southville Financial Innovation Competition (SFIC): The Monarch's Gambit. Here, the Manresans experienced fun games, healthy competition, and created meaningful connections with other participants from other schools namely: PAREF Southridge, Colegio de San Agustin Binañ, Ramon Pascual Institute, and SISFU. In each of the finance-themed programs, the participants had to challenge their innovative and strategic skills, in order to get through the numerous rounds.

Manresa School's ABM greatly proved themselves by LAKAS winning 1st and KAYA 4th place in the competition. Considering that this is the first competition of the strand, it is a big feat for both the students and the school to be able to reach their highest potentials. This simply goes to show that Manresa has harnessed effective ABM students, capable of becoming world leaders who will pave the way for innovation, growth, and change.
