The Grade 12 HUMSS students of St. Mark joined the International Coastal Clean-Up 2025 held on September 20, 2025, at SM by the Bay. The students worked together in collecting plastics and other waste, gathering a total of 20 kilograms of trash. They were accompanied by Miss Marjorie Grefal and Sir Archee Curiba.

The activity not only helped clean the shoreline but also served as a reminder to everyone of the importance of caring for the environment as a whole. Through teamwork and action, the HUMSS students showed that even small efforts can make a big difference in building a cleaner and healthier world.

Equipped with gloves, recycled sacks, and motivation, Grade 12 HUMSS students of St. Mark students collected a stack of plastic waste, wood scraps, and other discarded materials polluting the bay. The diversity of trash revealed how the day-to-day activities of people possibly contributed to the increasing problem of marine pollution.

This year's clean-up highlights the variety of trash that continues to pollute the bay. By recording and segregating the trash collected, The HUMSS students and other volunteers contributed in helping reduce the impact of marine pollution which can help guide future policies on waste management.
