TAKEAWAYS & RECOMMENDATIONS

  1. Start as Early as Possible

    • Always think and act two steps ahead. A governing body is prepared even before the election. Understand that implementing a project requires a budget and time.

  2. Work With, Not For, the Community

    • Always choose to be a leader, not a boss. Showcase the attitudes that inspire.

    • Remember that a leader immerses in the community to understand what their kapwa needs and if the department has the means to enact change.

    • Be Down-To-Earth. Especially in SHS, interact and work together with your teachers.

      Numerous projects will demand connections.

  3. Elect Officers with Initiative, Presence, and Passion

    • Officers need initiative. As a student council, the little things matter. Department events such as Flag Ceremonies in the building and in the gym are entrusted to the council. With proper initiative, the community trusts the council.

    • Have the passion to work, because amidst all else, it is your output that truly matters. Having multiple responsibilities does not force a leader to disregard a task.

    • Maintain a Goal-Oriented System. A continuous system allows the student council to work more efficiently.

  4. Discuss Ideas as a Critical Team

    • Always think as a team. Never forget to acknowledge everyone’s efforts. Learn how to participate regardless of the position. Learn how to initiate. Do not be dependent.

    • The SHSSG used a ‘research panel’ method in discussing proposals, methods/approach to project implementation, and even in budget meetings.

In addition, the student council increased the fund available for next year’s student council. With this, the SHSSG would like to extend its gratitude to the administration and the student body for the opportunity to lead and serve them side-by-side.

Best Regards,

ree
